Graduate and Guest Arrival, Tickets and Parking 

The spring commencement ceremonies are scheduled for Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7, 2022

Ticket Information

Barring any unforeseen changes due to COVID19 restrictions, each graduate may request up to the maximum of four tickets for the appropriate ceremony in Cistern Yard.  Tickets are ceremony specific and may not be used for any other ceremony.  With no pandemic pivots, tickets will be loaded directly to the graduate’s email account beginning Monday, May 2.

Important Dates and times:

March 16 at 12 p.m. EST Email sent to all spring and summer 2022 candidates who have 

applied for graduation to fill out the participation/ticket survey

March 17- March 29 Candidates who apply to walk will be emailed on the 

following Tuesday or Friday

April 29 at 12 p.m. EST    Participation/ticket survey closes

April 30 at 12 p.m. EST Electronic tickets are emailed to your official account


Graduates and guests may use the nearby garages for parking and are welcome to use alternative transportation (e.g., walk, bike, carpool, ride CARTA buses, use car services).   

Garage parking will be available in the core of campus at the following locations:

  • The George Garage, located at 34 St. Philip Street between George and Liberty Streets (next to CVS)
  • The College’s St. Philip Street Garage, located at 81 St. Philip Street between Vanderhorst and Calhoun Streets (next to the BellSouth building)
  • The Wentworth Street Garage, located on the corner of Wentworth and St. Philip Streets (81 Wentworth Street)

The hourly rate for these locations is $1 per half hour, or portion thereof, with a daily maximum of $18 per day.

There is also a City of Charleston surface lot located at 31 George Street. Parking at this location is pre-paid at the entrance and the pricing schedule is as follows:

  • $3 for a half hour
  • $6 for an hour
  • $9 for 1.5 hours
  • $12 for 2 hours
  • $18 for 3 hours
  • $40 for all day

The College of Charleston surface parking lots will be available only to faculty, staff and students working the ceremonies.

Guests using the accessible entrance to TD arena may be dropped off closer to the entrance before their driver parks in the nearby garage (listed below).
